As I wake from the
sweet sleep that slows my pain,
I’m thrown into this world
that is driving me insane.
I look outside my window.
Day fades into night.
My soul is grounded.
My heart won’t take flight.
And so, there you have it.
The story of my life.
Clawing through the darkness-
Grasping for the light.
