Storms of life

Lightning flashes across
the summer sky,
and the whipping winds,
they just won’t die.

There’s no doubt
that the storm has come.
The mistakes I’ve made
can’t be undone.

With the crack of thunder,
I feel my soul split.
Should I hang on,
or should I just quit?

The clouds let loose
with a hard pouring rain,
and slowly I’m drowning
within all my pain.

The storms of life
will make you cry.
They’ll break your dreams,
and they’ll make you die.

The storm will move on.
That’s a sure bet.
But in the path of destruction-
there’s nothing left.
