Sometimes

Sometimes I’m strong when I just want to be weak.
Sometimes I fight when I should turn the other cheek.
Sometimes I back off when I really should stand my ground.
Sometimes I feel lost, without a hope of being found.
Sometimes I’m so high on life that nothing can bring me down.
Sometimes I laugh and joke, or just act like a clown.
Sometimes I’m sentimental; I wear my heart on my sleeve.
Sometimes I hurt so deeply that all I can do is grieve.
Sometimes I offer my shoulder so that the ones I love can lean.
Sometimes I feel jealous, and the world is a shade of green.
Sometimes I get so angry that I can feel the venom flow.
Sometimes it’s so hard to let the poison go.
Sometimes I keep my emotions hidden deep within me.
But sometimes, I open my soul for the entire world to see.
