I want to give up the fight tonight

The rolling sea
is calling out to me,
as I’m standing on the edge of the bay.
I want to end it here.
The time is near,
‘cause I just can’t find a better way.

Every dream I ever had is broken.
All my pain I always left unspoken.

I want to give up the fight tonight,
‘cause I’m tired of holding on so tight.
In the eyes of God I know that it ain’t right,
but I want to give up the fight tonight.

Well, I don’t know who
to tell my troubles to,
and I can’t seem to open up this gate.
My heart is bruised,
and I’m so confused.
For me I feel it’s just too late.

The hurt comes in with every tide,
and I’m running out of places to hide.

I want to give up the fight tonight,
‘cause I’m tired of holding on so tight.
In the eyes of God I know that it ain’t right,
but I want to give up the fight tonight.

It’s time for me to say goodbye.
God knows I gave it my best try.
I’m aiming for that silver light,
‘cause I’m gonna give up this fight tonight.
