| My postal problems Lately, within the last two or three months, I’ve been having some severe problems with my postal service. It all started around my birthday. Three different people, from totally different areas, sent me birthday cards. These cards never got to me. Do you know how depressing it is when you check your mailbox, and you don’t have any birthday cards? Well, it really sucks! Now I can understand the possibility of one card not making it to my door…BUT THREE? To me, that just seems ridiculous! The fact that these cards were coming from different locations leads me to believe that the culprit in this situation is someone that works in the Canton, Michigan post office. I don’t want to direct this towards everybody working in this particular post office. I know that this is probably just one or two people, and the majority of the workers are just trying to put in their eight hours, and make an honest living. If you do, however, work for the post office in Canton, Michigan, please be advised that there is definitely a thief among you. I know that some of you that are reading this may be thinking that this is just a weird coincidence, and that I am overreacting. Yes, I was mad, but after thinking about it for a while, I started to think that maybe this was just one of those freak happenings too. But this wasn’t the end of it. I attempted to send out my mail one day. I had three pieces of outgoing mail. One was a birthday card to my cousin. Two were bill payments. I set them out along with all of the outgoing mail of my neighbors. The carrier took everybody’s mail but mine. Needless to say, I was royally ticked. Then, the next problem occurred. I sent two cards to my aunt. One was a Halloween card, and one was a card that I had been meaning to send, but hadn’t gotten around to sending. Well, anyway, I sent these cards one day apart. The Halloween card, which was in an orange, holiday appropriate, envelope, was delivered to my aunt. The other card, which was in a plain green envelope, never made it. Upon hearing the news that the second card never made it to its destination, my paranoia towards the post office in my city was relit instantaneously. I am at the point where I honestly believe that someone in the Canton post office is out to get me. I know a lot of people think that I’m making a big deal over nothing; but how would you feel? It almost seems like I’m being singled out here, and this is the first public statement that I’ve made regarding the post office here in Canton. In other words, it can’t be revenge for causing a scene. What happens when postal consumers go postal? I could complain to the postmaster over this, but what good would that do? How on earth would they ever conduct a successful investigation? It doesn’t seem like they could. My only hope is that the culprit will be surfing the web one day, stumble across this little article, and somehow develop a conscience. Hey, it could happen. But, if it doesn’t, I will take comfort in the fact that they will be toasting on a hot coal somewhere in the bowels of Hell when their time comes. Yep, that’s right! Devil’s barbecue! |
